Class Tui and Piwakawaka discovery play time!!!!

Hi so Mrs Weston's Tui class is all moved in so very exciting times are ahead!!!  It is important to mention that we are still fully involved in play with Piwakawaka and we spend discovery time together every morning.  The children can now flow between Tui and Piwakawaka for play.

In Piwakawaka today we carried on with our sewing and we also made some more bird feeders as the birds had eaten all of our last ones that we made.  We used pine cones!!!!

We also finished our volcano experiment ....the other day we made some out of clay.  Now that the clay is hard we were able to add vinegar and baking soda to observe some eruptions....

Piwakawaka Weston update...

Hi there,

So Piwakawaka Weston is now called Tui class although some of your children may call it class Kakapo as we were talking about it this morning!!!

We will be in our new classroom on Monday...I will begin moving furniture etc on Friday afternoon.


Piwakawaka discovery time happens every morning....some big urges in our play at the moment are the 'Take a parts'...we pull old cd players etc apart to find out how they work..  We have also been making volcanoes out of clay.  We have made some chemical reactions in the sandpit using baking soda and vinegar...photos to follow!!

When they are dry we will put baking soda and vinegar in them to see a chemical reaction...

 

Please bring in any old junk that we can take apart with our screwdrivers!!!

Piwaka weston buddy time on Friday with Ruru!!

Look at what we got up to today with our Ruru buddies...we love going into their class.  They read to us and set up activities for us to do.  This time we had an obstacle course, running race and art activities to do!
